Was not sure what to expect at first, most of the photos here are of rolls and I tend to go for sashimi/nigri. Started with a toro Handroll and it was delicious, you could tell the fish was super fresh. Friends ordered several rolls and all were good. Besides the toro Handroll the other standout to me was the sea bream. We were at the sushi bar and the service was friendly and quick. Love that they have fresh wasabi!!! Will definitely come back.

In town for work and was craving sushi. Great service and great food. Prices are very reasonable too.

Kuma Sushi was a last monute dinner grab after a long drive. We decided on this place because they have a deal: buy one roll, get the other 50% off! But once we got there, we were told it eas only for take out orders which wasn't a big deal so we got take out instead! We got the Angry Shrimp Roll and Rattle Snake Roll. The Rattle Snake Roll was our favorite! It was so delicious. The Angry Shrimp Roll was also good but it just didn't have the same flavor taste and the masago was a bit much for me.

I'm working through my list of places to visit in Bakersfield, and this was next up. We were seated immediately in a clean and inviting environment. The server was friendly and answered all my questions. They offer lunch specials until 3 PM, followed by happy hour. My favorite dishes were the popcorn lobster, Mr. Gump roll, and tempura California roll, while my least favorite was the sweet and spicy. The bathrooms were clean. Not sure how I missed Kuma Sushi but I'm glad I found them on Yelp! Kuma Sushi is a fantastic spot downtown, especially for lunch. There are plenty of tables and a large bar area, so finding a seat is usually easy. However, if you're concerned, they accept reservations and waitlists on Yelp, making it super convenient. We arrived around 12:45 PM on a weekday and walked right in without any hassle. Their lunch special is highly recommended and reasonably priced. While you can't pick from every roll on the menu, there are plenty of delicious options. I tried the spicy jalapeno yellowtail and the spicy tuna roll. The rolls are slightly smaller than some other places, but there's still plenty of food. For just $40, we enjoyed lunch with soup and salad included. What a great deal! The atmosphere inside is inviting and perfect for a date night.

I LOVE the aesthetic of this place! It's a more upscale sushi spot! The inside looks clean, and presentable. It is a more pricey sushi spot! But you're getting what you pay for. The waitress are super nice! You even get a free soda for checking in on Yelp!! Love that! I was in LOVE with the soba, it was full of flavor, had lots of chicken and veggies, it was the perfect mix! Just a little on the greasy side towards the end. My tempura roll was sweet, had a sweet sauce that I could not enjoy but it was still a great roll!
